Operation Gehenna

ゲヘナ

World & HistoryBattles & Events

Vols. 5–6, 4th–5th of Lower Fire Month (September), Year 1 after the transfer: an operation planned and commanded by Demiurge, which plundered people and goods from the capital in the name of the Demon Emperor "Jaldabaoth" while making the adventurer "Momon" the hero who drove off the demons.

  • On the surface, Jaldabaoth led a demon army against the capital to seize the "Demon Statue" held by the Eight Fingers and was driven off by the adamantite-rank adventurer Momon and others; the real aims were revenge on the Eight Fingers, plundering the Kingdom's manpower and goods, and a trial run for a similar operation later carried out in the Holy Kingdom
  • The plan had three phases: (1) raid the Eight Fingers' bases, abduct people, and rescue Tuare; (2) trigger Gehenna, sealing off districts with giant walls of flame, carrying off the residents, and looting the warehouses; (3) have Jaldabaoth withdraw at the signal of an earthquake
  • At 22:27 on September 4, Jaldabaoth killed Gagaran and Tia; at 22:33, Momon burst into the fight between Jaldabaoth and Evileye
  • At 0:47 on September 5, Renner summoned every adventurer in the capital and announced the plan to fight the demons; King Ramposa III came to the front in person
  • At 3:56 Mare caused an earthquake, and at 4:03 Jaldabaoth withdrew
  • Most of the more than 10,000 people inside the walls of flame were abducted, and the Kingdom's warehouse goods were seized; this eased Nazarick's finances
  • The Royalty Faction, Zanac, and the adventurers rose in esteem, while Barbro, who had stayed holed up, and the Nobility Faction lost standing; Momon received honors, including a letter of gratitude jointly signed by the King, Zanac, and Renner
  • Sebas personally killed five of the Six Arms (Zero among them) at an Eight Fingers base, while Succulent was cut down by Climb

Notes

Pestonya and Nigredo were confined to their quarters as punishment for opposing the killing of abducted human children.
