Demonic Disturbance
王都の悪魔騒動(ゲヘナ)
World & HistoryBattles & Events
Vol. 6 (September 4–5, Year 1 after the transfer): the Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth led demons against the Kingdom's capital; the Kingdom and the adventurers joined forces to fight back, and Momon "repelled" Jaldabaoth. This was the public face of Nazarick's "Gehenna" operation.
- The public story: Jaldabaoth led a demon army against the capital to seize the "Demon Statue" held by the Eight Fingers and was driven off by the adamantite-rank adventurer Momon and others; for the planning behind the scenes, the phases, and how Nazarick divided the roles, see the "Operation Gehenna" entry
- On the night of September 4, the Blue Roses fought Entoma, disguised as a maid, while raiding an Eight Fingers base; at 22:27, Jaldabaoth killed Gagaran and Tia (both later revived), and Evileye was defeated; at 22:33, Momon (Ainz) and Nabe arrived and intervened
- A giant wall of flame, "the Flames of Gehenna," encircled the capital's warehouse district and other areas (descriptions such as "the northeast" and "the commercial district at the economic heart" are unverified)
- At 0:47 on September 5, Renner summoned every adventurer in the capital and announced the plan to fight the demons; at 2:30, the adventurers charged through the wall of flame; Ramposa III came to the front with Gazef guarding him, while Zanac and Marquis Raeven's men, who were former adventurers, patrolled the capital
- Climb, Brain, and Lockmeier took on the "ultra-dangerous mission" of rescuing hostages and found about 300 at 3:57; Guard Captain Bona Ingre died in battle at 3:38; Evileye struggled against the maids "Alpha" and "Delta" (Yuri and Shizu), and Nabe also fought a maid
- At 3:46 Momon faced Jaldabaoth; at 3:56 Mare caused an earthquake, and at 4:03 Jaldabaoth withdrew
- The Kingdom's losses: most of the more than 10,000 residents within the walls of flame were abducted, and warehouse goods were seized
- Afterward, the adventurers who had fought hard and the Royalty Faction rose in esteem, while Barbro, who had stood idle, and the Nobility Faction lost standing; Momon received a letter of gratitude jointly signed by the King, Second Prince Zanac, and Renner, exemption from tolls in the royal domains, and a dagger implying a peerage, and he left the capital on September 10
Notes
Demiurge first appeared as "Jaldabaoth" in this battle; in Vols. 12–13 he invaded the Roble Holy Kingdom, again as the "Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth."
