Kyouhukou
恐怖公
Area Guardian of the 2nd Floor's "Black Capsule" / the "Worst Residence" of the Five WorstNazarick: Area Guardians & Other NPCsHeteromorphic (an upright cockroach about 30 cm tall)Total Lv30
Personality
Refers to himself with the archaic "wagahai" and speaks with impeccable courtesy. He is a gentleman, and quite normal by Nazarick's standards. His settings make him a duke, and the author has said he is "not evil." Cocytus is his good friend, but most of Nazarick's women would rather avoid him.
Abilities
- Excels at summoning his kin, calling up cockroaches of various sizes (the large ones about a meter long) to swamp enemies
- Deals mainly psychological damage; in the YGGDRASIL era he drove dozens of members of a 1,500-strong raid party to kill each other in confusion, or to be forcibly logged out
- Wears a crimson cape with gold trim and a crown, and carries a scepter set with a white gem
- In the Web novel he has a riding golem, the "Silver Golem Cockroach" (Lv70); Vol. 14 of the light novel hints that there is a golem in his room as well
History
- His direct superior is Shalltear, Guardian of the 2nd Floor
- Gave the captured Eight Fingers leaders a "baptism": his kin devoured them from the inside while they were kept healed so that they could not die (Vol. 6 p. 425)
- A teleport trap sent Gringham of the invading worker team "Heavy Masher" and a thief from his team into the Black Capsule. Their negotiations failed, and a wave of his kin swallowed them (Vol. 7)
- [Web novel] Watched over Nazarick's surroundings with his kin and, together with Arche, coached Ainz in dancing and etiquette for an Imperial ball
Trivia
The Vol. 7 two-page spread crammed with cockroaches was the author's own idea. The 2024 "Overlord Exhibition" actually put the Black Capsule on display.
