An umbrella term for races shaped like insects, spiders, or myriapods; the series never formally defines an "insect race" category, and sources group them by appearance.
- Arachnoid: Entoma's race, an upright, human-like figure with four spider legs growing from the back; her face has insect compound eyes.
- Insect Warrior and Vermin Lord: Cocytus's races; insect-like in appearance but said to belong to the demon line.
- Insect Druid: Kyouhukou's race.
- Touch Me belongs to an insect-type Heteromorphic race.
- The New World has ant-men (Vol. 9) and the mushroom-ant people of the Great Sea of Trees (omnivorous, but they do not eat intelligent beings); the Abelion Hills' Blade Armor Bugs (Bladers) are treated as demi-humans.
- With her "insect master" ability, Entoma can summon insects such as sword-blade bugs, hard-shell bugs, steel-bullet bugs, and thousand-whip bugs to use as weapons.
- Racial levels on record: Cocytus is Insect Warrior + Vermin Lord, Kyouhukou is Insect Druid, and Entoma is Arachnoid
- Other insect types in Nazarick: the Web novel's Guardian Knights (stag-beetle-like), Royal Knights (Lv70 strength with unmatched defense), and "Sword Saints," beetle-type samurai in full armor (Web setting)
- Entoma's lip bug can speak in a victim's voice after eating their vocal cords; Ainz also used it as "equipment" to change his voice (Vol. 6 p. 216, Vol. 7 p. 27)
