Vol. 11, Year 2 after the transfer: to keep his promise to retake the old capital Feo Berkana for the dwarves, Ainz sent Shalltear and Aura to demand the submission of Pe Riyuro, king of the united clans; mistaking his reply for a refusal, they slaughtered the roughly 80,000 Quagoa until only about 10,000 remained.

The Quagoa are mole-like demi-humans of the Azerlisia Mountains: eight clans, about 80,000 strong, united by Pe Riyuro, "the greatest king in the race's history," and occupying the dwarves' old capital, Feo Berkana.
After the Quagoa failed to take the dwarves' current capital, Feo Jera, Ainz agreed with the dwarven regency council to retake the old capital for them in exchange for recruiting their runesmiths.
Aura used the World Item "Scenes of Nature and Civilization" to seal the capital's caverns, Quagoa and all, in an isolated space, and Shalltear and Aura demanded Pe Riyuro's obedience.
Pe Riyuro hinted that "if the Sorcerer Kingdom truly has the power, he could accept its rule," hoping they would demonstrate it first, but this was taken as a refusal; the two immediately carried out Ainz's order: "If they don't obey, reduce them to about ten thousand and then rule them."
More than sixty thousand Quagoa in the old capital were turned into lumps of flesh in moments, and Pe Riyuro could only wail, "If you're this strong, why didn't you say so sooner?" (unverified); in the end, about 10,000 Quagoa came under the Sorcerer Kingdom's rule.
Other sources state that the survivors were 4,000 males, 4,000 females, and 2,000 young (Vol. 11); that Pe Riyuro had ordered that only two thousand children be kept and the rest given a quick death (unverified); and that the survivors were taken to work for the Sorcerer Kingdom (the Vol. 11 text says "you will work in the Sorcerer Kingdom"; the claim that they were moved to Nazarick is not found).

Notes

Pe Riyuro later happened to meet Jircniv in the Sorcerer King's audience chamber, and the two became close friends over the "tragedies caused by the same perpetrator."
