Vol. 14, sometime in Years 3–5 after the transfer, during the Sorcerer Kingdom's destruction of the Kingdom: at his subordinates' petition, Ainz agreed to deliberately let some people escape, and before the assault on the capital, Shalltear evacuated about 1,000 Eight Fingers associates.

After the Sorcerer Kingdom declared war on the Kingdom and the fighting began, the head of the Eight Fingers was instructed to select about 1,000 people from among the Sorcerer King's subordinates (Eight Fingers associates).
While the Sorcerer Kingdom carried out its slaughter, Pestonya S. Wanko and Nigredo petitioned Ainz to halt the operation and finally obtained a promise to "deliberately let some escape."
When the Kingdom conscripted an army of about 400,000 to meet the invasion, the Eight Fingers freed the imprisoned Cocco Doll amid the chaos.
The day after the Sorcerer Kingdom's army deployed before the capital, Shalltear handled the evacuation of the 1,000 Eight Fingers associates.
After the war these 1,000 settled in a certain village.
Other sources state that the petitioners were Pestonya and Nigredo (Sebas was present but did not petition); that Ainz said the plan had only ever been to kill about 90% of the Kingdom's people and agreed to let a small number escape (Vol. 14); that the evacuees were sent through [Gate] to a new temporary village near the "Monument of Ruin" in the Great Forest of Tob and moved to a permanent village a week later; and that this won the Sorcerer King the genuine loyalty of the Eight Fingers' leaders (unverified).
