Siege of Loyts

小都市ロイツ籠城戦

World & HistoryBattles & Events

Vol. 13 (the winter spanning Years 2–3 after the transfer): about a week after the Holy Kingdom's liberation army retook the small city of Loyts, Jaldabaoth's demi-human coalition counterattacked and besieged it; Neia was killed and revived by Ainz, and the Sorcerer King ultimately annihilated the demi-human army.

  • The liberation army successfully raided a demi-human-held prison camp and then the camp at Loyts (a supply hub), securing Royal Brother Caspond as well, and then secretly prepared for a siege
  • About a week later, Jaldabaoth's army began attacking Loyts; when the liaison doppelgänger asked about a list, Ainz ordered, "There's no one we need to keep. Just cull them as you see fit."
  • The commander-in-chief was the Naga Raja Rokesh, one of the Ten Greats; on the 2nd day of the siege the demi-humans held a war council, on the 3rd they killed and ate prisoners near the walls, and on the 4th they launched an all-out assault
  • Wearing the armor Ainz had lent her, which had belonged to the demi-human king Buser, Neia shot demi-humans from the walls along with the human children they used as shields, killed several demi-humans climbing the walls, and finally charged to repay Ainz's kindness and was killed
  • Remedios joined the defense; at the west gate she faced three of the Ten Greats, Vijar ("Demon Claw"), Nasrene ("Iceflame Thunder"), and Halisha ("White Elder"), and was hard-pressed
  • Ainz then stepped in; the Soul Eaters he summoned turned the tables and routed the demi-human coalition, trampling even its camp; Ainz revived Neia
  • About three weeks after the battle, Neia became captain of the archers; soon after, Jaldabaoth appeared to face Ainz

Notes

Between the releases of Vols. 12 and 13, Japanese sources ran a poll on whether Neia would live or die; both the "live" and the "die" voters were right, since she died and was then revived.
