Battle of the Great Wall
長城陥落(城壁中央部拠点への侵攻)
World & HistoryBattles & Events
Vol. 12, autumn of Year 2 after the transfer: the Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth (Demiurge) led the demi-human coalition against the central fortress of the Roble Holy Kingdom's eastern Great Wall, wrecked the wall with a single [Meteor Fall], and opened the Holy Kingdom campaign.
- Along its border with the Abelion Hills, the Holy Kingdom built a Great Wall over 100 km long, with three giant fortresses overseeing the smaller forts.
- Jaldabaoth had subjugated the demi-human tribes of the Abelion Hills beforehand, and in autumn he appeared before the Wall's central fortress with a coalition of 18 races, over 100,000 strong.
- After declaring war on the defenders, he smashed the wall and its garrison with the spell [Meteor Fall]; Pabel Baraja, the "Black" of the Nine Colors and Neia's father, died here.
- Orlando Campano, a warrior who was also one of the Nine Colors, died here too, and Jaldabaoth took his body (the account that he charged Jaldabaoth to avenge Pabel and was driven to suicide by Jaldabaoth's "cursed words" is unverified).
- After the demi-human army crossed the Wall, Jaldabaoth himself appeared with demons in the fortress city of Kalinsha, and the northern Holy Kingdom fell.
- Other sources state that the central fortress held about 20% (one-fifth) of the Holy Kingdom's forces, and that the 51 enchanted arrows first loosed by Pabel's archers were all negated (Vol. 12).
Notes
The short Japanese timeline says "early autumn," while the detailed one cites Vol. 12 p. 9 for "late autumn"; the Jaldabaoth entry in Japanese sources says only "autumn."
