Notable YGGDRASIL Guilds
ユグドラシルのギルド
World & HistoryBasics
At its peak YGGDRASIL had thousands of guilds, and about 800 remained at shutdown; besides Ainz Ooal Gown, the original work and the Web novel mention several notable guilds.
- Ainz Ooal Gown: membership required being a working adult and belonging to a Heteromorphic race (hidden condition: approval by a majority of members); it held 11 World Items, the most of any guild, and peaked at 9th in the rankings
- Seraphim: accepted only angel-type races; ranked 1st among guilds at its peak (Vol. 11, BD bonus novel)
- Millennium Kingdom: its guild banner bears a crane (Vol. 11); Great Cat Kingdom: occupied a castle and made all of its NPCs cats or other felines (Vol. 1)
- Burning Three Eyes: formed by operators of paid information sites, it planted spies in top guilds to steal information until an alliance of top guilds attacked it (spawn killing included) and it collapsed; its members then released all the information they had gathered for free (Vol. 7); this incident led Ainz Ooal Gown to stop recruiting new members, leaving it at 41 (Vol. 7)
- Web novel setting: "Trinity," a three-guild alliance formed to oppose the 2ch Alliance (ranked 1st); "World Searcher," who pursued new discoveries (2nd, holder of the World Item Graeae); the "2ch Alliance," with 3,000 members at its peak (3rd); a pro-Japan overseas guild; a voice actor guild; a mercenary magic caster guild; and more
- Guild rankings are calculated from average level, world discovery points, number of World Items, asset points, base points, PK and guild war points, and more; rumor has it that even cash spending counts
Notes
Japanese sources cite the author's confirmation that the name Burning Three Eyes comes from one of the avatars of Nyarlathotep, the "faceless god" of the Cthulhu Mythos.
