World & HistoryGeography & Nations

A fortress city with triple walls near the southern tip of the Great Forest of Tob in the eastern Kingdom, where the Kingdom, the Empire, and the Theocracy meet; originally under the crown's direct rule, it later became the Sorcerer Kingdom's capital.

  • The three walls protect, respectively, the army garrison, the city districts, and the administrative district; it produces plenty of food and borders both the Empire and the Theocracy, so traffic is brisk; the mayor is Panasolei
  • About a quarter of the area inside the outer wall is a huge communal cemetery where weak undead often appear at night; Khajiit of Zurrernorn spent five years preparing the "Death Spiral" here
  • Guildmaster Pluton Ainzach of the Adventurer's Guild and guildmaster Theo Rakheshir of the Magician's Guild were once adventuring companions
  • Momon (Ainz) registered here as an adventurer and became famous after resolving the cemetery incident
  • After the Massacre at Katze Plains it was ceded to the Sorcerer Kingdom; all the former bureaucrats fled back to the Kingdom, and for a time all domestic affairs fell on Albedo
  • Under the Sorcerer Kingdom public order is excellent and serious crime almost nonexistent; Yuri runs an orphanage here on orders
  • Facilities: the finest inn, the "Shining Golden Pavilion" (Momon's regular lodging), three cheap adventurers' inns, the high-class brothel "Honey of Amber" and others, the pharmacists' district, temples, slums, and sewers; the administrative district has huge granaries under [Preservation] that can store enough food for an army of 100,000 for years without spoiling (Vol. 14)
  • Checkpoints collect tolls, waived for holders of passes from villages in the domain; even the adamantite-rank Momon was charged as usual (Vol. 8)
  • Marquis Raeven and his commoner-born strategist judged that even if the entire Imperial army (1st–8th Armies, about 80,000) attacked, the triple walls would be hard to breach (Vol. 9); before Momon appeared, the city's highest-ranked adventurers were mithril
