Carne Village

カルネ村

World & HistoryGeography & Nations

A frontier village of about 120 people on the northeastern border of the Kingdom's E-Rantel territory, about 10 km southwest of Nazarick. Ainz saved it in Vol. 1, and under Enri and her goblins it later grew into a fortified village.

  • About 25 households and 120 people who live off crops and herbs from the Great Forest of Tob; normally the only visitors are a pharmacist and a yearly tax collector (Vol. 1)
  • Because it lay near the territory of Hamsuke, the "Wise King of the Forest," it had never been attacked by monsters and did not even have a fence; according to the Web novel's setting, the pioneer Thomas Carne founded it 100 years ago
  • In Vol. 1 it was attacked by Slane Theocracy soldiers disguised as Imperial knights, and about half the villagers died; Ainz and a Death Knight saved the village, after which Gazef and the Sunlight Scripture arrived
  • Enri used the Horn of the Goblin General that Ainz had given her to summon 19 goblins (Vol. 1), and the village built up its defenses around them
  • In Vol. 9, First Prince Barbro attacked with his troops; Enri blew a second horn and summoned an army of about 5,000 goblins, which drove him off; Barbro and his men were then wiped out by a unit of Redcap goblins (level 43, 30 in total) summoned at Lupusregina's request
  • Enri became the village's "chieftain," and Nfirea moved here to research potions; after the Sorcerer Kingdom was founded, the village became part of it

Notes

Sources treat Carne Village after Enri became chieftain as a separate entry from the original frontier village.
