Characters

Quaiesse Hazeia Quintia

クアイエッセ・ハゼイア・クインティア

5th Seat of the Black Scripture, "One Man Army," Clementine's older brotherSlane TheocracyHumanUnknown

Personality

Always wearing a gentle smile, he is courteous and skilled at negotiation and apologizes repeatedly for rude colleagues. Lakyus sees him as a "gentle pretty boy," while Azuth sees through him as "a man with a fake smile." When the being they revere is insulted, he instantly radiates killing intent, yet he is the first to regain his composure and restrain his comrades.

Abilities

  • In the Web novel he summons and commands magical beasts such as Gigant Basilisks; he is said to be able to command at least ten monsters that only hero-class fighters could defeat (the origin of the name "One Man Army")
  • In the Web novel he is called the strongest Beast Tamer, unmatched by any other Black Scripture member when it comes to "annihilation"
  • Wears rings on all ten fingers, in which he stores the magical beasts he has tamed
  • Excellent negotiation and field-command skills; he failed to recruit the Blue Roses and Red Drop but succeeded with other adventurer teams (Vol. 14 p. 324)

History

  • Favored by their parents over his younger sister Clementine, who was constantly compared with him; the phrase "the other half of Quintia" (クインティアの片割れ) appears in a conversation between Clementine and Khajiit (Vol. 2)
  • Presumably part of the Black Scripture unit escorting Kaire, which retreated after the encounter with Shalltear (Vols. 3–4)
  • After war broke out between the Kingdom and the Sorcerer Kingdom, he led the 10th through 12th Seats in secretly recruiting adventurers in the capital; the Blue Roses and Azuth of "Red Drop" both declined, but many other teams accepted (Vol. 14)
  • When Azuth mentioned "Rufus" (possibly Surshana's first attendant), his comrades bristled with killing intent, but he was the first to regain his composure, restrained them, and left, saying he would report to his superiors (Vol. 14); Azuth hinted that this being is undead, and Quaiesse judged it a bluff

Trivia

In the Web novel he mistook Ainz for Surshana, the God of Death, and wept with emotion.
