Characters
Gondo Firebeard
ゴンド・ファイアビアド
Rune developer / dwarf minerOther FactionsDwarfTotal Lv11
Personality
His grandfather and father were both chief runesmiths, but he has no talent himself and is obsessed with reviving the declining rune craft. Gentle and rational, he worries about the young Aura. Though a dwarf, he does not drink a drop.
Abilities
- He says he has no talent as a runesmith; Ainz surmises that he hit his level cap once he had the prerequisite classes plus Runesmith Lv1
- Has no combat ability and avoids monsters with the invisibility cloak his father left him
- Knows the dwarf cities and the old royal capital well and serves as guide for Ainz's party
History
- Working as a miner to fund his research, he was mining white iron steel in the temporarily abandoned city of Feo Raidho when he met Ainz and Aura (Vol. 11)
- When Ainz offered to fund rune research and bring all the runesmiths to the Sorcerer Kingdom, he accepted, declaring that "even my soul would be a cheap price" (Vol. 11)
- Returned to Feo Jera to help gather the other runesmiths, and served as guide to the old royal capital, Feo Berkana
- Witnessed Ainz's subjugation of the frost dragons, entered the royal castle's treasury, and secretly took the arms his father had made and books on rune techniques
- Afterward he moved with the runesmiths to the Sorcerer Kingdom (Carne Village) and worked to revive rune craft (that he "thanked Ainz at a banquet" is unverified)
