Fluder Paradyne
フールーダ・パラダイン
Chief court wizard of the Empire; "Triad Magic Caster"Baharuth EmpireHumanUnknown
Personality
Outwardly a revered, learned teacher, usually gentle and courteous. At his core, though, he is a magic fanatic who would discard everything to glimpse the abyss of magic, and he is jealous even of his own disciples. Once he starts talking about magic he cannot stop, yet he is rather inept at aristocratic politics.
Abilities
- Studies arcane, divine, and spiritual magic at once and can use 6th-tier magic; he is one of the human "Outliers" who have gone beyond the Realm of Heroes
- His innate talent lets him see the tier auras of arcane magic casters
- Extends his lifespan with a ritual that combines the three systems of magic (the age of 268 comes from the Web novel; the published novels give no specific age)
- Has mastered [Fly], [Fireball], teleportation, 6th-tier [Summon Undead], and an undead-domination spell of his own devising
History
- Has served the Empire since the emperor six generations back: chief court wizard from five generations back, and from three generations back tutor to the emperors and deeply involved in state affairs (background, Vol. 7)
- Led magic casters in capturing a Death Knight that had appeared naturally on the Katze Plains, and spent years trying to dominate it with his own magic, without success (background, Vol. 7)
- On meeting the adventurers "Darkness," he saw the 10th-tier aura Momon revealed after removing his ring. He prostrated himself on the spot, begged to become his disciple, pledged everything he had, and from then on betrayed the Empire (Vol. 7)
- Proposed to the emperor that workers be sent to scout Nazarick, and when Aura and Mare visited, he left Jircniv no way out (Vol. 7)
- After the Sorcerer Kingdom was founded, he stayed in the Empire and supplied Nazarick with information, but Jircniv detected his betrayal and gradually sidelined him. Ainz told him he would be put in charge of secret magical research, granted him the Book of the Dead, and told him that "deciphering it is itself training" (Vol. 10)
- Provided information on the Dwarf Kingdom and runes at Ainz's request (Vol. 11)
