A gelatinous Heteromorphic race that is highly resistant to physical attacks such as piercing and slashing and can corrode and destroy gear, but is physically weak and cannot wear armor.
- They sense their surroundings through motion detection or vibration rather than human-like sight; their sensing range is limited, and they are vulnerable to ranged attacks.
- Elder Black Ooze: Herohero's race; its acid is among the strongest of any slime and can degrade gear.
- Solution Epsilon is a predatory slime whose races include Shoggoth and Ubbo-Sathla.
- In Nazarick, slimes under the Homunculus Maids handle cleaning on the 9th and 10th Floors; the sapphire slime "Miyoshi" works as a body scrubber in the bathhouse.
- In the New World, sanitary slimes process sewage in the drains; they are acidic but carry no pathogens.
- Slimes have no skeletons and are the only race that cannot become zombies or skeletons.
- Racial levels on record: Solution has Shoggoth 10, Ubbo-Sathla 10, and more, for 45 racial levels in total (end of Vol. 5); Area Guardian Guren is a colossal Abyssal Slime (bonus novel The Emissary of the King)
- The New World's "filth eaters" dispose of garbage; their bodies are masses of pathogens, yet they are intelligent and see humans as beings who produce food for them (Vol. 13 p. 213)
