Sea City
海上都市
World & HistoryGeography & Nations
A city to the east of the area shown on the map Ainz obtained; on its lowest level sleeps the "her" of whom the Leader of the Thirteen Heroes spoke. The key phrase is "waits dreaming."
- Details such as its population and ruler have not been revealed
- The Platinum Dragon Lord thinks that rather than recruiting Dragon Lords such as the Brightness Dragon Lord, awakening "her" in the Sea City offers a better chance of help
- "Waits dreaming" (夢見るままに待ちいたり) is thought to come from Lovecraft's The Call of Cthulhu
- Readers speculate "she" may be a player, a Dragon Lord, or a Cthulhu-type being, and that the Sea City may be a Cthulhu-themed guild base
- Sources: location at Vol. 4 p. 13, "waits dreaming" at Vol. 7 p. 280
- Another reader analysis: Cthulhu has a daughter, Cthylla, so "she" may be Princess Cthylla; together with Cthulhu elements like the naming of Zy'tl Q'ae, readers speculate the Leader of the Thirteen Heroes was a player
Notes
The author said on X that if the anime gets seasons 6 and 7 (covering roughly Vols. 22–24 of the original), "The Girl of the Sea City" would be a bonus.
