Characters
Succulent
サキュロント
"Phantom Devil" / one of the Six ArmsEight FingersHumanUnknown (in the author's level ranking, below the Four Imperial Knights' average and above Calca, the Holy Queen)
Personality
Proud to be one of the Six Arms, he takes his work seriously and will not tolerate anyone getting in his way (unverified). Arrogant and cunning toward the weak, he likes toying with opponents through illusions. The other Six Arms mock him as the weakest.
Abilities
- Trains in both arcane illusion magic and the light sword, and fights by dodging rather than blocking. Because his abilities are spread thin, he is worse than Climb at pure swordsmanship
- Illusions: [Scintillating Scotoma] creates blind spots in vision, [Fox Sleep] feigns death, and [Multiple Vision] creates copies; he can also use illusion to take on someone else's appearance
- Equipped with the orichalcum chain shirt "Cat's Elegance," a mithril sword, a spear-blocking hood, and a mana-boosting ring
- Once his illusions are seen through, or even simply disrupted, he loses his edge, and he often loses to opponents of equal or slightly lower strength
History
- Sent by Zero to guard Cocco Doll (his cover was that of the brothel's manager filing the complaint), he went with patrol officer Staffan to extort Sebas, indirectly lighting the fuse that destroyed the Eight Fingers (Vol. 5)
- When Sebas, Brain, and Climb raided the brothel, he defeated Climb and tried, unsuccessfully, to recruit Brain. Brain instead beat him easily, knocking him out with the back of his blade, and he was arrested along with Cocco Doll (Vol. 5)
- Bailed out thanks to Zero's string-pulling, he lay in ambush at an Eight Fingers base, disguised by illusion as the captured Tuare. However, all his magic items had been confiscated when he was arrested, and since his illusion could not copy clothing, he had to wear an actual maid outfit. Climb, with Lockmeier's help, cut him down (Vol. 6)
Trivia
The setting materials spell his name "Succulent." There are two theories about its origin: some sources say it comes from "succulent" (delicious), while the source wiki's "name origins" page guesses the English "chuckle at" (snicker). He is the only Six Arms member who did not die at Sebas's hands.
