グ
The "Giant of the East" of the Great Forest of TobOther FactionsDemi-human (troll, War Troll)Unknown (Ainz and Aura judged him on par with Hamsuke, Vol. 8; the "about level 30" claim is unverified)
Personality
Hot-blooded, belligerent, dim, shortsighted, and proud. His kind's custom holds that those with short names are strong, so he scorned Ainz Ooal Gown, with his long name, as a coward. He is also cruel.
Abilities
- A War Troll, a special variant specialized for combat
- Troll racial regeneration (cannot regenerate fire or acid damage)
- Wields a magic greatsword nearly 3 m long (Vol. 8 p. 385) whose central groove constantly oozes a poison that lowers the opponent's strength (Vol. 8 pp. 213, 381); can change size
History
- The "Giant of the East" who rules the eastern Great Forest of Tob, ranked alongside the Demon Snake of the West, Ryraryus, and the Wise King of the Forest in the south
- After the Wise King of the Forest vanished and the "Building of Ruin" appeared, he joined Ryraryus in forcibly conscripting the forest's inhabitants (Vol. 8)
- When Ainz appeared he arrogantly challenged him, was judged worthless, and was killed
- Later, monsters apparently from the Giant of the East's side attacked Carne Village, and his magic greatsword ended up with Jugem. Ainz had revived him as undead to join the attack (to test the village), and Jugem cut him down
Trivia
Only after meeting Go Gin, the Martial Lord and also a War Troll, in Vol. 10 did Ainz drop the prejudice against trolls that Guu had given him.
