Faine

Personality

Expressionless as if she wore a mask, with eyes as cold as glass. Her mind warped by the Elf King's violation, she showed her daughter no warmth at all: she never called her by name (in dreams she calls her only "this"), never celebrated her birthday, and dealt with her only through near-abusive "training."

Abilities

• The Slane Theocracy's former trump card (Vol. 15 p. 326); the novels do not state whether she was God-kin
• Could use healing magic; in training she beat her daughter until she was covered in wounds, healed her, then beat her again
• Favored a club in training

History

• Deceived, imprisoned, and raped by the Elf King Decem, she became pregnant with his child and was rescued back to the Theocracy by the Black Scripture before giving birth (background)
• She gave birth to Antilene (Zesshi Zetsumei) but vented her hatred of the Elf King on her daughter, imposing harsh training in place of upbringing; Aunt Nazaire, who helped in the house, tried to let them rest and was ignored (Vol. 15 flashback, Vol. 15 p. 324)
• Already dead by Vol. 16; when she died is unknown
• Her hatred of the Elf King passed to her daughter (Vol. 15); in Vol. 10 the Theocracy's leadership said the current war with the Elf Country was also meant to let that girl avenge her mother. What triggered the war between the two countries is unknown
• During the assault on the Elf capital, Zesshi Zetsumei began to question whose hatred this really was and planned to look through the Theocracy's records later to get to know her mother anew from a third party's perspective; facing the Elf King, she showed no more mercy than her mother would have (Vol. 16)

Trivia

Because her mother never once called her by name, Zesshi Zetsumei does not even know who named her.
