Head of the Four Imperial Knights, "Lightning Bolt"Baharuth EmpireHumanUnknown
Personality
A commoner from the back alleys, he speaks casually and is blunt and unreserved even with the emperor. At first he felt no loyalty to Jircniv, but after long service at his side he came to respect him deeply. He married a former prostitute and has several mistresses, yet the household is harmonious; he jokes that his hobby is "being bossed around by my wives."
Abilities
- De facto leader of the Empire's strongest knights, the "Four Knights"; rated "quite dangerous" by Headhunter Rabbit, the bodyguard of arena promoter Osk
- Wields a greatsword in illustrations; in the Web novel the name "Lightning Bolt" comes from his adamantite weapon
- Like the other Four Knights, he is equipped with a full set of magic items (gauntlets of strength, an amulet of health, a ring of resistance, a helm of mental protection, and more) and carries at least 1,000 gold coins' worth of potions (Web novel setting)
- Knows his limits: he judges that even the Four Knights together could not beat the Martial Lord Go Gin
History
- Born in the back alleys of the Imperial capital, he struggled desperately to become a knight in order to survive, nearly died many times hunting monsters, and was finally noticed by Jircniv. He filled one of the Four Knights' seats "vacated" by Gazef and was made a count for his achievements (background; the vacancy is per Vol. 9 p. 145; the countship and other details are unverified)
- When Aura and Mare stormed the Imperial castle on dragons, he could only watch as his colleague Nazami and many Imperial guards were swallowed by Mare's earth-splitting magic (Vol. 7)
- Accompanied the emperor to Nazarick to apologize and was terrified by the Death Knight serving tea and by Ainz's true face; afterward he frankly admitted that Ainz surpassed Jircniv in both power and charisma (Vol. 9)
- At the secret meeting in the Grand Arena he and Nimble guarded the exits so the temples' high priests could not leave; hearing the emperor himself request that the Empire become a vassal of the Sorcerer Kingdom, he felt deep sorrow but still hoped the Empire could retain its autonomy (Vol. 10)
- In the short story "The Current Situation of Various People. A Prologue" (色んな人の現状。のプロローグ, 2021), published by the author on the posting site Hameln, he discussed with Nimble how to fill the Four Knights' two vacancies; details such as "he married two more former noblewomen" are unverified
Trivia
Headhunter Rabbit, bodyguard to arena promoter Osk, rated the Four Knights "quite dangerous," second only to the "extremely dangerous" rating given to the Martial Lord Go Gin.
