New World Magic Items

異世界のマジックアイテム

Magic ItemsItem Grades

Magic items made in the New World; they fall far below YGGDRASIL's in rarity and potency, but some special items cannot be reproduced in YGGDRASIL.

  • Fluder says that when crafting magic items it is important to use a related spell, such as [Fireball] for a flaming weapon (Vol. 10)
  • Everyday magic tools are widespread: spring faucets that produce 200 liters of water a day, insulated bottles, cooling containers, linked hand bells, glow sticks, and more
  • Types that cannot be reproduced in YGGDRASIL: intelligent talking items (the Orb of Death), the Crown of Wisdom, and the Dragon's Treasure ring made with Wild Magic
  • Magic clothing repairs itself when torn as long as the wearer is unharmed
  • Dwarves enchant with runes, and the Baharuth Empire has a Ministry of Magic researching magic technology; adventurer ranks are named after metals such as copper, iron, silver, gold, platinum, mithril, and adamantite
  • Unless enchanted, local gear does not resize automatically the way YGGDRASIL gear does (Vol. 16 p. 5)
  • Representative everyday items: insulated bottles keep a drink's temperature and quality for 1 hour (Vol. 5 p. 88); when one of a pair of linked hand bells is shaken, the other vibrates, but they do not react if too far apart and have only one ring pattern (Vol. 5 p. 359, Vol. 14 p. 364); the spring faucet makes up to 200 liters of water a day, and some large cities use bigger versions as a water source (Vol. 11 p. 460)
  • Appraisal and exploration items for adventurers: the Bell of Open Lock, the Bell of Detect Secret Doors, and the Bell of Remove Trap (3 times a day, 30-minute cooldown), which Gagaran gave to Climb (Vol. 5 pp. 319–323)
  • Criminal organizations use magic items too: a viper tattoo makes the inked snake materialize and attack enemies (Vol. 6 p. 190); will-o'-wisp powder reveals invisible things but cannot fool high-tier illusions (Vol. 6 p. 162)

Notes

Adamantite, the New World's finest metal, is a "soft metal" by Nazarick's standards; a level-45 metal ingot Ainz owns does not even get hot in a dwarven forge.
