Lore
Sealing Crystal
魔封じの水晶
Magic ItemsItem Grades
A crystal with a spell sealed in it in advance that shatters after one use; its type can be told from its glow.
- The one Nigun had could seal any spell below super-tier; in Vol. 1 he used it to summon a Dominion Authority, which Ainz destroyed in one blow
- In YGGDRASIL they are rare but handy, and high-level players use them in quantity (The Vampire Princess of the Lost Country)
- In principle, spells boosted by metamagic skills cannot be sealed, with [Widen Magic] the exception
- Ainz cracked the crystal Nigun had used and gave it to the Adventurer's Guild as proof of slaying the "vampire"
- Ainz also has a Sealing Crystal holding an 8th-tier spell (Vol. 3 p. 224), and in the side story one holding [Greater Teleportation] (side story-301)
Notes
When it first appeared in Vol. 1, it was called a "Magic Sealing Crystal."
