Unkei

Personality

Refers to himself as "this humble monk" and speaks very respectfully in front of Jircniv.

Abilities

• A spiritual magic caster, effective against the undead
• Handles the team's magic and healing (his healing is somewhat weaker because of his class)
• Can set up detection magic and fields that hinder detection, but has not learned any magic to detect invisibility

History

• A member of the Empire's adamantite-rank adventurer team "Argenti," whose members wear feathers from the silver canary the team once kept
• Served as a guard at the Grand Arena during Emperor Jircniv's secret meeting with the Slane Theocracy's envoys and others (Vol. 10)
• Set up detection and anti-detection magic at the arena for the secret meeting
• The team later moved its base to the Karsanas City-State Alliance (the timing, "after the Sorcerer King's bout with the Martial Lord," is unverified)

Trivia

He worships the "Buddha God," a minor deity from far to the south of the Empire said to be subordinate to the Four Great Gods. Since healing magic is properly the temples' "product," the Empire's temple faction treats him, a healer with no temple affiliation, as a nuisance.
