Levels & Classes 12

  1. Level

In YGGDRASIL a character's level is the sum of racial levels and class levels, capped at 100; player characters are basically all level 100.

  2. Job Class

YGGDRASIL has over 2,000 base and advanced classes combined, and characters must stack multiple classes to reach level 100.

  3. Genius / General classes

Two types of classes absent from YGGDRASIL: "Genius," an innate talent-type class, and "General," classes gained in everyday life with almost no combat power.

  4. Leveling in the New World

Locals have no concept of "levels"; they only know that the body can suddenly grow stronger under extreme conditions, and each person's talent sets the upper limit of growth.

  5. Realm of Heroes

The New World's term for those who have broken through human limits; those who cross this line are called "heroes."

  6. Outlier

Beings who have surpassed the "Realm of Heroes"; among human magic casters there are only four on the continent, Fluder included.

  7. Difficulty

    難度

The New World's measure of a monster's or person's strength; readers generally believe "Difficulty ≈ level × 3."

  8. Talent

An innate special ability unique to the New World, held by about 1 in 200 people; it cannot be chosen or changed, and whether it suits its holder's abilities is pure luck.

  9. Notable Talents

The main talents that appear in the work and their holders.

  10. Martial Arts

    武技

Original skills used by the New World's warriors, absent from YGGDRASIL; they could be called "warriors' magic."

  11. Skill

Abilities gained with racial or class levels, divided into actively triggered types and always-on types (passive skills).

  12. God-kin

Descendants of the Six Great Gods who have awakened the gods' power, called God-kin by the Slane Theocracy; their potential far exceeds that of ordinary people, and about three (or two) exist today, including the Black Scripture's Captain and the Extra Seat.
