One of the Twenty; at the cost of completely erasing the user, it deletes the target entirely from the game data.
- The user and the target are both completely erased (Vol. 3); the erased cannot be revived except by another World Item—cash items and resurrection magic do not work
- When a guild NPC is erased, the guild's pool of NPC creation levels stays reduced for good (until that NPC is revived)
- Defenses: holding a World Item, a well-timed World Champion defensive skill, or the target being a "World Enemy"-type being (Arcadia comment replies)
- In the YGGDRASIL era, a player who was quitting the game posted a recording of using Longinus to obliterate an important NPC, and the video was flooded with abuse such as "die" and "scum" (The Vampire Princess of the Lost Country)
- During the raid on Nazarick, a member once proposed using it on the "King of Helheim" (BD bonus novel)
- An erased NPC keeps the guild's NPC level pool reduced unless revived with another World Item (Arcadia comment replies)
Notes
Japanese sources have a speculation page on whether the shabby spear of the Black Scripture's Captain is Longinus; the original never states it. In the side story, the Wild Magic [Soulbreaker Breath] of Cure Elim (the Elder Coffin Dragon Lord) has an annihilation effect equal to Longinus's (side story-411).
